Access notes
Northwest Paragliding Club manages Tiger under current land agreements. The South Launch is reached by hiking or the current authorized shuttle; there is no public pilot drive-up. Check the club guide and status before every trip.
Site rules
- Carry current USHPA and Northwest Paragliding Club membership and follow the current Tiger site guide; P1 pilots require direct supervision and unsupervised pilots need at least P2.
- Use the hike or current club/community shuttle. There is no public pilot drive-up access to launch.
- Do not launch in east wind; observe the published PG launch-wind ceiling and all club closures, event controls, and fire restrictions.
- Remain below the published Seattle Class B limits: 5,000 feet over the launches and 6,000 feet immediately east, while independently checking current airspace, TFRs, and NOTAMs.
- Land only in the designated Tiger LZ and follow the current pattern; motors are not permitted at this free-flight site.
Launch directions
SSE, S, SSW, SW
Direction notes
Official guide describes the South Launch as SSE-SW and warns that an east component greater than about 2 kt is hazardous.
Safety notes
- South Launch is hazardous with any meaningful east component; do not treat the broader mountain forecast as a launch reading.
- The main LZ at 47.500444,-122.021972 has turbulence/venturi exposure and a powerline side; use the published approach and preserve an early alternate plan.
- Tiger is high traffic. Maintain launch order, right-of-way, thermal, ridge, and landing-pattern discipline.
Additional notes
A separate official south-facing launch, retained in addition to the already-live Tiger North Launch. PG use is explicit; PPG is prohibited.
