Access notes
Established Springville community/fly-in site. The source gives the town approach and LZ area but relies on local layout knowledge at takeoff and landing, so current local coordination is required before use.
Site rules
- Watch how current local pilots lay out and choose the usable takeoff position on the rock face.
- Do not attempt the distant main LZ without first gaining enough height to clear the intervening hills; use the large bailout below launch when low.
- Confirm the current status of the helipad and cow-field landing options before launch.
Safety notes
- The launch is a sheer rock face and is described as potentially very dangerous.
- The main LZ requires a very long glide; failing to clear the hills can leave a difficult hike-out.
- The small helipad LZ is bordered by trees, barbed wire, telephone wires, and dropping terrain; the large bailout can produce a fast no-wind landing.
Additional notes
Current APPI takeoff page 7769 preserves the launch and bailout details. Paramotor use is not documented.
Map pin (exact launch)
The cited source publishes a coordinate for this specific takeoff face; it is treated as an exact launch pin.
