Current 2026 tracks establish active Slide Mountain PG use. Washington DNR maps public North Fork Road access to Slide Mountain but gate and timber-sale status can change; confirm the current legal route, hike/vehicle status, exact setup, and LZ with DNR and local pilots.

- Remain on public DNR land and designated/open routes; do not cross private timber parcels, closed gates, active logging, or habitat closures.
- Obey Discover Pass, parking, fire, vehicle, timber-sale, road, and seasonal requirements.
- Secure a legal non-airfield LZ and retrieve before launch; current flight tracks are not landing permission.
- Check current airspace, TFRs, NOTAMs, wildfire/smoke, mountain weather, and winds aloft.

Safety notes
- Remote mountain flying includes strong thermals, wind shear, gradient, lee-side rotor, limited emergency LZs, trees, steep terrain, and delayed rescue.
- The stored point is only 4.525 km from Kendall Airstrip; any different launch or LZ needs a fresh facility screen.
- Logging and gate status can change the route and emergency access without altering the flight-track locality.
