Access notes
Rapture Air currently advertises year-round Albuquerque PG instruction and first-day solo flights from its 200-foot training hill, but does not publish a reusable field or access route. Reserve through the operator and obtain the current non-airport meeting point, training hill, parking, land-manager terms, weather window, and briefing. This generalized foothills marker is not the school field.
Site rules
  • Use the area only through a confirmed Rapture Air lesson or current operator coordination; do not search nearby parcels for the training hill.
  • Follow the instructor's current equipment, waiver, student, weather, rating, parking, launch, landing, and landowner rules.
  • Require the exact assigned point to remain outside every current FAA facility buffer and Restricted/Prohibited polygon.
  • The operator establishes unpowered PG only; no PPG use is inferred.
Direction notes
No field-specific direction or safe wind envelope is public.
Safety notes
  • The public page does not publish the actual hill, direction, wind limit, obstacle survey, landing zone, or emergency plan; the operator briefing controls.
  • Albuquerque foothill terrain can be thermic, gusty, rocky, and close to urban airspace and helicopter activity; do not extrapolate from the generalized marker.
  • The generalized point is 11.755 km from NM11 University of New Mexico Hospital heliport and outside current R/P polygons.
Additional notes
Current operator area retained as a non-navigation social/instruction pin. It is distinct from the live Sandia Peak launch and does not disclose or invent a training field.
Map pin (general area)
Generalized Albuquerque east-side locality, not the operator's unpublished 200-foot training hill.
Navigation warning
General operator marker only. Book with Rapture Air and obtain the actual non-airport field; never use this pin to enter land, launch, or land.
