Access notes
The launch is inside Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area and is governed for free flight by Southern Para Pilots. Current USHPA membership, SPP dues or eligible visiting membership, waiver affirmation, and club-rule compliance are required. The WMA also requires its current per-person day fee or Georgia WRD Lands Pass. The PG LZ is a homeowner's private yard used through the club relationship.
Site rules
- Maintain current USHPA and Southern Para Pilots membership or eligible visiting membership, complete the waiver affirmation, and follow current club rules.
- Carry the current WMA day-use payment or Georgia WRD Lands Pass required at the park entrance.
- The site is normally P3/H4 with a cliff-launch rating. A P2 may fly only in P2-appropriate conditions under one-to-one guidance from a P3-or-higher mentor with significant site experience.
- Mini wings are not currently allowed, instruction must be by an appropriately insured USHPA-certified instructor, and tandem flight is not currently certified.
- Treat the short PG LZ as a private home yard: watch for children, dogs, and other people, minimize disturbance, and preserve the landowner relationship.
- The separate HG LZ is controlled by Tennessee Tree Toppers and cannot be substituted without their current permission.

Direction notes
Official guide publishes a flyable range of 60 to 130 degrees; E is the representative face direction.
Safety notes
- East-facing flat cliff launch; published PG range is 60-130 degrees, 4 mph minimum, 10 mph ideal, and 12 mph maximum with gust spread under 5 mph.
- The setup narrows from about 120 feet to 70 feet with trees on both sides, uneven/rutted ground, jagged rocks below the lip, and minimal tree clearance. Maintain a fully loaded torpedo run and never jump at the edge.
- The main PG landing yard is short and surrounded by trees. In zero wind the club guide says cross the driveway no higher than about 25 feet AGL; a high final can run out of room.
- Do not head behind the ridge alone or without experienced supervision; the forested area has no landing option for a long distance.
- Do not fly over or near horses using the ridge-top trails.
Additional notes
Current state-managed launch with standing club, waiver, rating, and day-pass rules plus a private club-permitted LZ. It is amber, not a red discretionary-authorization record.
