Access notes
CUASA and USHPA membership are required. The final road is gated; contact a CUASA officer for the routine key process or park at the gate and hike. Use the current event/source-resolved valley LZ.
Site rules
  • P3/H3 or direct supervision
  • CUASA and USHPA membership required
  • Coordinate the gate key with a CUASA officer or hike
  • Launch early enough to preserve glide to the valley LZ
Launch directions
N, SW, E, S
Direction notes
North acceptable 300-60; southwest 190-270; east 50-130; south 130-220. Use the exact current face parameters.
Safety notes
  • 11,700-foot density altitude and oxygen risk
  • Very early thermic blowout and valley wind
  • Rapid Tushar overdevelopment, lightning and hail
  • SW face requires clearing the east ridge to reach the valley
Additional notes
The CUASA page's displayed LZ coordinate repeats the launch area. The 2025/2026 official event waypoint set resolves the operational Edna LZ at 38.440938, -112.247247; that discrepancy is documented rather than copied forward.
Map pin (general area)
The current guide describes North, Southwest, East and South faces in one alpine meadow; the current Red Rocks waypoint is retained as a conservative area pin rather than four invented coordinates.
Navigation warning
This is not a face-specific navigation pin. Obtain the gate key/routine CUASA coordination or hike from the gate and select the current prepared face on site.
