Mount Tom's launch and LZ are private property used through NEPHC's negotiated agreement; there is no public right to fly. Current USHPA and NEPHC membership, annual NEPHC registration and waiver, the proper rating, and compliance with the club's current site process are required. The stored point is the main WNW launch. The alternate WSW launch is at 42.242403,-72.648304. There is no vehicle access; hike from the current permitted parking arrangement at the Log Cabin Restaurant, 500 East Hampton Road, and obtain a site introduction before a first flight.

Site rules

Prior club authorization is required through current NEPHC membership, USHPA membership, annual registration and waiver, and the current Mt Tom site process; private ownership means this is not walk-in access.
P4 is required for unobserved flight. A P3 may launch only with an Observer; arrange the Observer and site introduction before arriving.
Use only the designated launch and main LZ at 42.249534,-72.654258. The LZ can close in summer for tall hay; check current club status before launch.
Do not land in the horse paddock or the red private-house/driveway area, fly low over neighbors, disturb livestock, or linger after landing. Pack quickly and quietly.
Tandems are for training only and must be flown by a USHPA-rated Tandem Instructor. No commercial operations are allowed under the ordinary site rules.
No PPG access is represented. The negotiated private-site agreement and current guide cover foot-launched PG/HG only.

Direction notes

The stored main launch is WNW: 290-310 degrees ideal and 270-330 acceptable. The nearby alternate WSW launch works 220-240 ideal and 215-245 acceptable; use that separate physical launch only under the current club briefing.

Safety notes

Both launches are small, rocky, steep cliff launches where forward launch is not possible. Rotor can make inflation and control difficult; use an extensively practiced reverse launch and do not bring an unfamiliar wing.
For a standard PG wing, the guide gives 6-8 mph minimum, 10 mph ideal, and 15 mph maximum. Check 3,000-6,000-foot winds and avoid building, mixed, gusty, or crosswind conditions.
The LZ has power lines at the east end, a horse paddock, homes, and seasonal hay. Arrive high, remain west of the field for the pattern, never try to squeeze over the wires, and watch for evening katabatic flow.
Stay well clear of radio, TV, microwave, and wind-turbine towers. Leave the ridge early enough to reach the LZ and avoid low scratching against the rock face, blowback east of the ridge, and crosswind penetration traps south of the towers.
NEPHC describes nearby military/controlled-airspace hazards east of the ridge and toward Westover and Barnes. The exact launch point intersects no FAA Restricted or Prohibited polygon, but pilots must follow the current local flight boundary, sectional, NOTAMs, TFRs, and aircraft traffic.

Additional notes

One row represents the closely spaced Mt Tom launch complex, using the current primary WNW coordinate and documenting the WSW alternate rather than creating a near-duplicate spot. It is red because both launch and LZ are private and NEPHC authorization is required.
