Kennedy is an open Hyner Club PG site in the McElhattan area only when the pilot is accompanied by a club guide. Current USHPA and Hyner membership and the Hyner waiver are required; the public page rates PG at P3. The detailed guide, exact 4WD road, gate, launch, campground or across-river LZ choice, parking, and retrieve route are intentionally not public. Contact the club and use only the exact route and field selected by the guide.
Site rules
  • Do not use the general-area pin for navigation; fly only while accompanied by the current Hyner Club guide.
  • Maintain current USHPA and Hyner membership, complete the Hyner waiver, and meet the P3 requirement.
  • Use a suitable 4WD vehicle only when the guide approves the dirt road and follow all gate, parking, landowner, campground, river, and retrieve instructions.
  • Ask the guide which current LZ is appropriate; an apparently longer field across the river is not standing permission.
  • Screen the guide-supplied exact launch and LZ against current FAA facilities and airspace before flight; PPG is not established.

Safety notes
  • The current club page describes a shallow grassy NNW launch at 345 degrees, about 1,170 feet AGL, and requires at least 5 mph wind to launch.
  • The published LZ ratio is 9:1, but pilots may prefer longer fields across the river. River crossing, glide, field status, crops, obstacles, and retrieve must be settled with the guide before launch.
  • The public source intentionally withholds the exact road, launch, and LZ, so the pin cannot establish obstacle clearance, safe wind range, or a landing plan.
  • The safe general marker is 6.906 km from operational 35PN Woolrich Volunteer Fire Company Helistop and intersects no current R/P polygon; exact guide-supplied points require re-screening.
