Private south-facing bluff launch and private bottom landing area currently listed by Compass AirSports for Wisconsin free flight. Contact Compass AirSports or the current Hager City local pilots before every visit and obtain explicit current landowner authorization for launch, parking, access, and landing. Do not arrive independently. When the ground is wet or muddy, park only on the gravel area and walk; never drive onto crops or soft ground.
Site rules
- Obtain explicit current landowner authorization and a local-site briefing before entering, parking, launching, top landing, or using the bottom LZ.
- P2 and above only; pilots need strong ground-handling skills and awareness of strong-wind ridge-soaring behavior.
- Protect crops, grass, gates, roads, neighbors, and all private property. Do not drive onto the launch when wet or muddy.
- Use the private gravel-road LZ only under the current permission and pattern supplied by local pilots; keep the road and any traffic clear.
- Top landing is conditional: remain well clear of corn, crops, trees, spectators, and the cliff edge.
- No paramotor use is documented. Do not infer powered access from the flat launch or road.
- Recheck current FAA facilities, controlled airspace, NOTAMs, TFRs, weather, landowner status, and field condition before every flight.

South is the primary direction; southeast and southwest are only conditional. The source warns that the site is crosswind-sensitive, so local pilots and actual launch streamers override forecast direction.
Safety notes
- This is a committed bluff/cliff launch with trees and rock below; a failed inflation or weak launch run has serious consequences.
- The site is sensitive to crosswind. Midday summer conditions can become gusty and turbulent, and terrain/rock below the face can produce very strong lift.
- The bottom LZ is a private gravel road directly below and roughly perpendicular to the hill, not a broad public field. Confirm that it is clear and usable before launch.
- Launch and LZ conditions may differ. Place and observe a lawful wind indicator where the owner and local pilots direct, and abandon the flight if wind direction or speed is unstable.
- The nearby Mississippi River valley, bluff rotor, trees, crops, road traffic, and limited landing choices require conservative margins.

Included as a red private-field PG site because the 2026 operator page still names Hager City for free flight and the May 2026 site record supplies a precise launch, LZ, parking point, access rule, rating, and hazards. This is not public walk-in access and not a PPG site.
