Fort Flagler is a current State Parks free-flight site with Rainier Paragliding Club operating guidance. Complete annual State Parks registration, carry current USHPA membership, and use only posted launch/landing zones.
Site rules
  • Complete Washington State Parks' current annual paragliding/hang-gliding registration and carry proof while flying.
  • Use only posted designated launch and landing areas during daylight and obey every park, ranger, seasonal, fire, event, and operational closure.
  • Carry a Discover Pass where required and do not block roads, trails, campsites, day-use facilities, or emergency access.
  • Motorized gliders are not permitted under the State Parks free-flight authorization.
  • Do not fly over congested areas or assemblies and independently check current airspace, TFRs, NOTAMs, and weather.
  • Under the current club guide, unsupervised pilots need P3; P2 use requires the specified instructor/observer and cliff/restricted-landing/flat-slope signoffs.
  • Do not land in the campground and do not operate motors, hang gliders, or RC aircraft under this site authorization.

Current State Parks/Rainier club PG site. Mt. Jupiter, formerly referenced by the same club, remains excluded as closed.
