RGSA's site-specific page documents PPG use from the South Monticello campground/boat-ramp area. The page also says the site is unpermitted, uninsured, unmanaged, and unimproved. Contact Elephant Butte Lake State Park before every visit, pay current day-use/camping fees, confirm which ramp or beach is open and expressly acceptable for PPG, and follow staff instructions. This row is not walk-up permission.
Site rules
- Obtain same-day park staff confirmation for the actual launch/landing area; a closed boat ramp or open beach is not automatic aviation permission.
- Stay away from all camps, RV areas, boats, swimmers, beaches with people, and other congested areas; never fly during 10 p.m.-7 a.m. quiet hours.
- Use only an open, staff-accepted surface and obey all park fees, vehicle, fire, noise, wildlife, closure, and visitor rules.
- The current evidence is PPG only; do not promote this row to unpowered PG.

- Water level changes which ramps and beaches exist. Inspect the full launch run, abort zone, shore, wind, people, and obstacles on the day.
