Current RGSA guide places the launch and LZ on the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument landscape. Park in the published LZ at 31.86905,-106.99456 and hike the entire old jeep route for roughly 45-90 minutes. Do not drive toward launch. The Torrey Paso launch was specifically retained when surrounding Riley Group wilderness rules prohibited mechanized PG/HG launches elsewhere.

- Launch only from the grandfathered East Potrillo/Torrey Paso site; do not launch PG or HG from the Riley Group wilderness area.
- Park in the LZ, hike the complete route, remain on permitted routes, and comply with BLM signs and current monument closures.
- Do not treat broad desert public access as PPG permission; the current guide establishes unpowered PG/HG only.
- Check current fire, road, weather, NOTAM, and Temporary Flight Restriction status before the remote trip.

Safety notes
- P2 site with ridge-soaring and thermal experience recommended; ideal surface direction is 70-80 degrees, acceptable 65-110, 5-12 mph with 9 mph ideal and gusts up to 5.
- Rotor and terrain-generated turbulence occur below and in front of launch; do not remain close to terrain in thermic conditions.
- The LZ can be overgrown and late katabatic flow can oppose winds aloft; carry a windsock and plan for remote communications.
- Launch and LZ are 28.718 km and 27.537 km from DNA Doña Ana County International Jetport and outside current R/P polygons.
