Cliffside is a private CPC-managed site. Hold current USHPA membership, complete the site orientation, meet at least the published P2/H2/M2 qualification, and obtain current access/gate authorization before entering.
Site rules
  • Use the locked-gate road, parking, launch, top-landing, Cow Pasture, river, and bailout areas only under the current CPC/landowner rules.
  • Operate only during the published daylight window unless the landowner gives explicit additional permission.
  • Never launch or land on the highway and keep people, wings, vehicles, and retrieves clear of traffic and farm operations.
  • Observe fire-season restrictions and carry any required equipment.
  • Verify current weather, airspace, TFRs, NOTAMs, and LZ condition before flight.

Official acceptable sector about 60-180 degrees, ideal about 80-160 degrees; westerly flow is rotor.
Safety notes
  • Official usable flow is roughly E-SE; westerly flow can put launch and landing areas in severe rotor.
  • Powerlines, wind turbines, highway traffic, river, crop/stock activity, thermals, and strong gradient are material hazards.
  • Cow Pasture LZ 45.7212,-120.715 is one of several current options; obtain the orientation before choosing or top landing.
