Palm Beach County offers a standardized annual powered-paraglider permit for the mapped area at Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park. Applicants must hold active USPPA membership with a PPG2 endorsement and USUA membership, provide the required insurance documentation, pay the current annual fee, and carry both the current USUA insurance card and County Approved Flyer Card when entering with equipment.
Site rules
  • Operate only a commercially available FAA Part 103 powered paraglider; the county permit prohibits amateur-built aircraft.
  • Remain inside the Attachment A flight path and outside the Attachment B no-fly zones; takeoff, landing, engine start, fueling, and engine run are allowed only in the permitted area.
  • Current flying time is daily from sunrise through sunset, except during park special events or when restricted by the FAA; the permit holder must check the park calendar.
  • No more than three aircraft may be airborne over the park at one time.
  • Use designated parking, not service roads; lock the issued permitted-area gate on entry and exit.
  • Do not drop anything without prior written County approval, impede public or concessionaire use, endanger bystanders, or use alcohol or drugs on the premises; remove all activity-related waste.
