Blue Springs is a private-land, USHPA-insured hike-and-fly site. Current USHPA and Sandia Soaring Association memberships are mandatory. Use the dirt-road and pipeline-right-of-way approach to the published parking/LZ at 34.43353,-106.50708, then hike about 1.4 miles and 475 vertical feet. Membership is not landowner permission for an unscheduled commercial activity; obtain the current club briefing and any stakeholder authorization before entry.

- Maintain current USHPA and SSA memberships and follow the current SSA site guide and private-land terms.
- Confirm current landowner and club access before every visit; use only the published road, parking/LZ, and hike route.
- Commercial tandems require a separate stakeholder permit; instructional activity must follow USHPA rules and the SSA notice process.
- This source establishes PG, HG, and mini-wing ratings but does not establish PPG use.

Current SSA guide publishes WNW-WSW as the best sector, with a west-facing rocky grass slope.
Safety notes
- P2 guidance is 0-18 mph, ideal 10 mph, with gusts no greater than 5 mph; the best sector is WNW through WSW.
- Watch for low-level turbulence from terrain and bushes, venturi effects on both sides of the ridge, and strong spring/summer thermal activity.
- The launch and published LZ are 26.511 km and 26.186 km from NM88 Skywagon Farm and intersect no current Restricted or Prohibited polygon.

Stored as both club-managed and visibly red because the current guide explicitly identifies private land and mandatory memberships. No PPG use is inferred from the M1 mini-wing rating.
